Frances Mae O'Donnell, 90, of Menomonie, WI passed away Saturday, March 24, 2012, surrounded by her family at the Dunn County Health Care Center. She was born in St. Paul, MN on June 15, 1921 to Madge (Smith) and Fred (Daddy) Markus.
She graduated from Downsville State Graded School. She worked various jobs until being employed as a nursing assistant at Memorial Hospital in Menomonie. On June 10, 1942, Mae married Lawrence O'Donnell in Wilson WI.
After her retirement she enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved to go fishing, camping and tending to her plants and flowers. She also enjoyed knitting, music and taking care of her long time companion friend "Baby" (her bird).
Mae had so much life in her and a spirit that kept you on your toes. She always had the coffee pot on and loved chatting about the "good ole days" while sipping her coffee. We will keep her spirit alive within us, by all the memories we have to share.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Marti of Friendship, WI and Nancy (Allan) Smith of Boyceville, WI. One sister, Ruby Swisher of Menomonie, WI; Seven Grandchildren; Becky Marti of Friendship, WI; Patrick (Robin) Johnson of Menomonie, WI; Gayle (Cory) Schehr of Wisconsin Dells, WI; Tony (Jo) Johnson of Boyceville, WI; Marie (Bobby) Holbrooks of Swartz Creek, MI; Carrie Johnson (Carolyn Larson) of Menomonie, WI; Nanette Roth (Jeff Waller) of Friendship, WI. Mae was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence of 48 years; three sisters, Reba Lovlien, Dora Pederson, Frieda Larson and one brother Eldon Seiler.
She will be sadly missed by all and her love will remain in our hearts forever.
