Mae was my Great Grandmother, and what an angel she was. Mae was a person of her own style, made her own path in life and lived it to the fullest. To me, she was very robust and brave, as well as witty and caring. She wasn’t afraid to speak her mind and crack a few jokes to make those around her smile. I will always remember spending weekends with her; watching her TV shows, going to yard sells, eating

Mae was my Great Grandmother, and what an angel she was. Mae was a person of her own style, made her own path in life and lived it to the fullest. To me, she was very robust and brave, as well as witty and caring. She wasn’t afraid to speak her mind and crack a few jokes to make those around her smile. I will always remember spending weekends with her; watching her TV shows, going to yard sells, eating her delicious cooking and baking, and spending days with her and Aunt Ruby. They would share stories and discuss recent events over coffee as I would listen while coloring in a book. While I was in Middle School I would walk to Great Grandma’s after school and spend a few hours with her, just passing the time. Although any time spent with Grandma O’Donnell was never enough with her, she was addicting to be around. She loved her bird, Baby, and was always caring for it and talking to it when Baby would squawk at her. She also always had a teddy bear close by her, and when she broke her hip I brought her a little stuffed dog which she had named “Teddy”. From that day her and Teddy were inseparable, he was always right by her side ready to comfort her. I am pleased I was able to bring happiness and comfort to her life, though I never heard her complain about anything that might ail her. Great Grandma was an inspiration that will continue to live inside of me as I go on, I only can hope that some of her amazing qualities have rubbed off on me.

I have so many memories of my Grandmother it is hard to even begin. I will never forget the camping and fishing trips we took up in Chetek, WI. She would take us to the dime store when it rained out and let me and my brothers take the pram out and row around in the pond. I can still hear Gramma and Grampa having discussions in the boat. How we would no more get to our favorite fishing spot

She would take us to the dime store when it rained out and let me and my brothers take the pram out and row around in the pond. I can still hear Gramma and Grampa having discussions in the boat. How we would no more get to our favorite fishing spot and Grampa would have to use the bathroom. It never failed he would always fall in trying to get out of the boat onto shore. I remember someone being responsible for tying the fish bale to the boat, only it didn't get tied and when the bale got tossed over the side it sunk to the bottom with all of the fish. I could go on and on but most recently when I would spend time with Gramma she never wanted me to leave and would say, "you don't have to go already", then in the next breath she would tell me not to let the door hit me in the a** on my way out. she was spit fire for sure, I only hope I have the strength and the will to survive like she did. I love you Gramma and I miss you dearly.

This is for my Aunt Nancy and 1st and 2nd cousins. I wish we didn't live 3 hours away. Sometimes it is difficult to get together being we all have our own lives. Thank goodness for email. We need to keep in touch. You are all very much welcome to come and visit me in the Dells. We can make new memories for our children. Love you All

When we would all get together, there was always one memory that was never forgotten........Grandma and Grandpa took my sister Nanette and myself camping when we were probably 7 & 4 years old. We were all having a good time until Nan and I had to go use the "outhouse"! As Nan was sitting down she realized a little too late

For those of you who do not know me, I am Mae's granddaughter and Mary Marti's 2nd oldest daughter. When we would all get together, there was always one memory that was never forgotten........Grandma and Grandpa took my sister Nanette and myself camping when we were probably 7 & 4 years old. We were all having a good time until Nan and I had to go use the "outhouse"! As Nan was sitting down she realized a little too late that she was smaller than the hole was and fell in!! I was too small to get her out of the tank so I ran as fast as I could through the campground to get gramma's help. She said, "WHAT"? All I could get out was, "Nan fell in"! Gramma made a mad dash to the smelly toliets and when she got there she reached down as far as she could reach and the first thing she felt was her head and pulled her up by her hair. She was full of you know what!! That did it, we packed up in the middle of the night and left. This is just one memory of many that we will all keep alive. We already miss you Gram. You hold a special place in our hearts. We will love you forever

It was so hard to see you go Gram. I will miss our coffee clutches and reminiscing about the "good ole days". My heart goes out to you Gr. Aunt Ruby. I can not imagine what you are going through right now. Please know that you will be visited at least once a month and we can read our horoscopes together with a cup of coffee. I love you very much.
