Ronald William Tietz, age 75, of Menomonie, went peacefully home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 04, 2012 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems-Eau Claire following complications of heart failure.

He was born September 21, 1936 in Downsville, WI to Albert and Gladys (Draland) Tietz. Ronald was baptized October 18, 1938 and confirmed May 28, 1950 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Ronald was raised in the Menomonie area and graduated from Dunn County Agriculture School in 1954. He married Donna Jeanne Neubauer on May 25, 1956 at Peace Lutheran church in Menomonie.

Ronald wore many hats during his life, including machinist, supervisor, farmer, church secretary and auto parts deliverer. His longest time of service was with 3M in Menomonie retiring from there in 1996. He served St. Paul's Church for nine years as secretary and more recently delivered parts for Auto Value.

Ronald was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. He always had a story to tell or a joke to share up to the very end. He will be greatly missed. He was so proud of his children and grandchildren and all of their accomplishments.

The family wishes to thank Mayo Clinic Health System and all of their wonderful doctors and nurses who cared for Ronald the past 5 ½ years. Also thank you to Olson Funeral Home for all their help and guidance at this difficult time.

Ronald is survived by his wife Donna; his children, Nancy (Roger) Steinmeyer, William Tietz, Gregory (Amy) Tietz and Karen Otto; grandchildren, Cory (Jennifer) Steinmeyer, Troy (Jennifer) Steinmeyer, Lindsay (Scott) Barnhart, Heather and Ryan Tietz, Jordan and Aaron Otto, RaeAnne (Shem) Biebert, Kaitlyn, Zachary, Jacob, Joshua, Isaac, Faith and Emily Tietz; seven great-grandchildren; a sister Dawn Steinmeyer; a brother Mic (Irene) Thorpe; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Richard (Sue) Neubauer, Dean (Penny) Neubauer and Carol Dougherty; he is also survived by other relatives and friends.

Ronald is reunited with his mother and father, Gladys and Albert Tietz; sister Joanne Dougherty; brothers-in-law, Gordon Dougherty, Mike Steinmeyer, Ronald Neubauer and Jim Dougherty; and mother and father-in-law, Edna and Harold Neubauer.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Menomonie with Pastor Brett Voigt officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
