Beatrice Miller, age 93, of Menomonie, WI passed away Friday, January 20, 2012 at her home.
The former Mildred Beatrice Halvorson was born December 20, 1918 in the Town of Menomonie, Dunn County, Wisconsin to Ole and Mabel (Klingenberg) Halvorson. She was baptized and confirmed at Little Elk Creek Lutheran Church, where she also married Norman Miller in 1939.
In 1948, Bea and Norman started the Menomonie Paint and Wallpaper Store which they ran for over 40 years. They were members of Peace Lutheran Church for many years. Bea also enjoyed volunteering at the Senior Center in Menomonie.
Bea is survived by a son John (Georgie) Miller; four grandchildren, Mike (Danni) Miller, Katie Miller, Pat (Amanda) Miller and Kurt Singerhouse; several great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Larry (Millie) Halvorson and Merlin Halvorson. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Norman, a daughter Sonja Singerhouse, grandson Marty Miller and granddaughter Rhonda Hoyt.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Little Elk Creek Lutheran Church in the Town of Red Cedar, Dunn Co., WI, with Pastor Steven Carlson officiating. There will be visitation at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Peace Lutheran Cemetery in the spring.
