Kenneth "Ken" Eugene Engebretson, age 64, of Boyceville, WI passed away Friday, January 20, 2012 at Mayo Clinic Health System-Eau Claire.

He was born May 18, 1947 to Daniel and Margaret (Grant) Engebretson, in the Town of Hay River, Dunn Co., WI, on the "old home front".

Ken graduated from Boyceville High School in 1965 and remained in the area all of his life. He married the love of his life Verla Hintzman in 1965 in Menomonie. They were blessed with four children, Robin, Melissa, Shonna and Nick.

Ken enjoyed spending time with family, watching the Green Bay Packers (even when no one else was), camping and time with his dog Miles. He was also a very proud employee of 3M in Menomonie.

He will be remembered most for his smile and always talking about his family of whom he was so proud.

Ken is survived by his wife Verla; daughters, Robin Morse (David Seyffer), Melissa (Ken) Koss and Shonna Engebretson; son Nick (Stacy) Engebretson.
Eleven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Two brothers, Frank (Rachel) Engebretson and Ron (Patti) Engebretson.
Also survived by other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Carol, dear friend Joe Hatzenbeller and his in-laws, Byron and Doris Austin.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, with Pastor Steven Boyd officiating. There will be visitation at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday. Burial will be in Hay River Cemetery in the Town of Hay River, Dunn Co., WI, in the spring.
