Mary E. (Kent) Hairdahl, age 93, of Menomonie, WI died Thursday, January 27, 2011 at the Dunn County Health Care Center.
The former Mary Evelyn Kent was born December 8, 1917 in the Town of Red Cedar, Dunn Co., WI to Harry W. and Jessie M. (Chrislaw) Kent. She graduated from Dunn County Agriculture School in 1936 and graduated from Northwestern Bible College in 1944.
Mary married Karlyle Hairdahl on Nov. 9, 1956 in Rusk, WI. They resided in the Town of Red Cedar until 1956 when they moved to Menomonie.
Mary enjoyed doing volunteer work for family and neighbors and at the Dunn County Health Care Center. She also enjoyed baking, fishing and the traveling she did with Karlyle. Mary was a faithful and active member of Menomonie Alliance Church.
Mary is survived by:
Her son, Brian of Menomonie
A sister, Grace Harrison of Menomonie
Several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Karlyle; three sisters, Margaret Kent, Eleanor Vincent and Ruth Jensen.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, Feb. 4, 2011 at Menomonie Alliance Church. Burial will be Evergreen Cemetery in Menomonie. There will be visitation from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie and at the church one hour prior to the service on Friday.
